At BodyYOU, within a few short minutes, we wilt give you the knowledge of your body’s composition. The BOD POD takes a real time assessment and gives you an accurate measurement of:

  • Total Lean Muscle Volume
  • Resting Metabolic Rate
  • Total Energy Expenditure
  • Optimal Daily Caloric Intake

Knowing your body composition is important. Not all weight is created equal. Over time people tend to lose muscle and gain fat, even if the scale stays the same number. Although some fat is acceptable to maintain good health, excessive fat in the body is proven to increase the risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Our bodies can be divided into two main components: fat and lean mass. Fat comes in two types. “Essential Fat” is necessary for our normal body functions. “Storage Fat” is the extra fuel we store under the skin and around organs. Lean mass primarily consists of muscle, the major “metabolic” engine of the body and skeleton. The more muscle in our body the more calories we burn, even when we are resting. We often make reference to being “overweight,” but ha ing excess body weight and excess body fat are two completely different things. Indeed, fat and muscle differ in n important way- muscle is much denser than fat. A pound of fat takes up 18% more volume than a pound of muscle. Lean and muscular individuals can have higher body weight without any excess body fat
